As part of its work, the “Mobility” Work-Package of the LabEx DynamiTe invites Ms Donna GABACCIA from March 17 to March 24, 2018.
During her stay, Donna GABACCIA will give several conferences:
on March 20, she will take part in the seminar “L’histoire comparée et les migrations contemporaines”;
on March 21, she will take part in the seminar “Enjeux de l’interdisciplinarité dans l’étude des migrations”.
Donna GABACCIA is a Professor at the University of Toronto. She is well-known around the world as a scholar of international migration, gender and food studies. She has written and edited fifteen books on U.S. immigration, migration in world history, and the history of the worldwide Italian diaspora. She is the past president of the Social Science History Association and the Society for the History of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era, and recipient of many awards and honors including the 2013 University of Minnesota Community Service Award for Faculty, which acknowledged her work with immigrant and refugee communities.
