As part of its work, the “Environmental normativity in the face of climatic disasters” Work-Package of the LabEx DynamiTe invites Vida PANITCH for a period of four weeks, starting Monday, May 23 2022.

Vida PANITCH

Vida PANITCH is an Associate Professor of Philosophy and Ethics and Public Affairs at Carleton University (Ottawa). Her work so far has focused on the commodification of tangible and civic goods from a perspective of justice.

Within the framework of the “Environmental normativity in the face of climatic disasters” Work-Package, her work will be extended to understanding the ethical implications of environmental norms, in particular those authorizing or limiting the commodification of environmental services and seeds. This will make it possible to examine within the Work-Package the consequences of the economic regulations of nature in terms of justice.

Her stay in Paris will allow the continuation of the collective work “The Routledge Handbook of Commodification”, which Vida PANITCH co-edits with Elodie BERTRAND and to which Catherine LARRÈRE contributes, as well as the organization of a conference on the same theme.
